Regardless of the age of a building section 18(2) of the Fire Services Act 1981 places a duty of care on people in control of buildings to take all reasonable measures to prevent fires and to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, the safety of the occupants in the event of a fire. Fire safety measures would deal with preventing an outbreak and spread of fire and smoke, and effective evacuation.
Atlantec Alarms installs Fire Detection systems under direct guidance of the most up to date fire protection standards "IS 3218" There are various types of "Life Protection Fire Systems" to be installed to, and these are "M", "L4", "L3", "L2", "L1" and "L" These have various technical specifications as well as levels of required coverage for individual buildings, whatever they may be.
